On March 15th, Endeavor Indonesia hosted Scale-up Asia 2017, which brought together nearly 500 network members.
Held in the morning, the Scale-Up Conference was designed for growth-stage entrepreneurs to gather insight on the tools that could help them tackle some of the major challenges to scaling up. Participants had the opportunity to mingle with leading investors from Indonesia, Southeast Asia and Silicon Valley, who were keen to learn and collaborate with local entrepreneurs. Under the scale-up theme, the event included international and local speakers discussing comprehensive topics focused on everything from talent retention and building strong employee culture to leveraging mega-trends and living your best (startup) life. Notable speakers and presenters included Markus Bihler (HappyFresh); Raoul Oberman (McKinsey & Company); Peng T. Ong (Monk’s Hill Ventures); Khailee Ng (500 Startups); and Nadiem Makarim (Go-Jek Indonesia).
In the afternoon, the Mega Scale-Up Clinic brought together entrepreneurs and industry experts for a half-day event that involved speed-mentoring sessions covering topics like sales, finance & fundraising, talent management, branding & marketing, and marketplace & e-commerce. Representing the Philippines were attendees including #EndeavorEntrepreneurs Mikko Perez of Ayannah and Farouk Meralli of mClinica, Paul Rivera of Kalibrr, Shahab Shabibi and Tim Michael of Machine Ventures, and Grace Granlund of MiDash along with Endeavor Philippines staff.
